Hastings and St.Leonards has all the attractions you would expect from an English seaside resort. A long promenade with a cycle path, a pier, beaches with rock pools, award winning lights and traditional seaside food and entertainments. But this is only part of what makes Hastings and St.Leonards such a popular holiday and short break destination for thousands of visitors. There is the Old Town, location of Foyle's war, nestling between the East and West Hills. Here amongst the quaint buildings and hidden twittens, you will find a host of unusual and interesting shops with plenty of places to stop for a drink or something to eat and the unique Electric Palace Cinema.

Both of Hastings' Hills are easily accessible by funicular railway, the steepest in Europe. The West Hill is the location of Hastings Castle and the Smugglers' Caves and the East Hill takes you on to Hastings Country Park. Visit the Stade, home to Europe's largest beach-launched fishing fleet, the historic Fishermen's Net Huts, Underwater World, the Shipwreck Heritage Centre and the Fishermen's Museum. Explore Burton's St. Leonards with its world famous architecture and small parks and gardens. Then there's Hastings Town Centre with its shopping centre and pedestrianised areas with cafes, bars, theatres, cinema and restaurants. Don't forget a walk in Alexandra Park, opened in 1882 and stretching over 109 acres.

Hastings and St.Leonards is bordered by beautiful countryside typical of the High Weald, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. As well as Hastings Country Park, a must for ramblers, there are plenty of public footpaths and walking routes, including the 1066 Country Walk from Pevensey to Rye, to help you explore this historical landscape.
